Thanks Dogwelder.
This version makes about twice as much sense as the original — which is sadly (or awesomely) still zero sense.
(the original and STILL the best)

Lileks just tweeted earlier about his affinity for this sort of rain that we get in October. I wholeheartedly agree. It’s a nice contrast to the summer storms — which I also enjoy.
Also, Weather Underground rules.
It’s really tough losing a pet.
Underpants was the first cat I ever had. She was a part of my life for 14 years — dating back to the first marriage (one of the few things that still brings back crystal clear memories) — and the primary reason I became a vegetarian.
She was an awesome cat, and had experienced a bit of a renaissance this past summer. She returned to her outdoor ways and had gained a step or two bounding up and down the stairs when before she slowly sauntered.
Cancer caught her. She ended up with an incredibly fast-growing tumor in her jaw that appeared over the past 6 weeks. We found out on Friday and took her in today for the final time. She passed as she purred on my lap.
I buried her out back.
It’s been a brutal couple of days for us. The boys are all upset, but they’re resilient.
Goodbye, girl. You’ll be missed.

I’ve been Twittering pretty seriously for the past few months and I wonder if it’s having an effect on the blogging. I’ve never been more productive on the blogging front, so that part of me says no — at least not a negative impact.
On the positive side, I’ve gotten quite a bit of inspiration from a number of the people I follow and who message me directly. On the negative side, I hear the voice in my head reciting any of my creative writing professors warning of “telling the story before it is written.”
I think the key to all of this is to hold back the really great stuff — the bloggable stuff — for any of the various blogs and use Twitter to filter out the quick hitting stuff and to bitch about general items.
Overall, as silly as I thought Twitter was to begin with, I think it can be a positive if you let it.
Follow me – if you’d like.
