Pictures OF the Lens – Sigma 30mm f1.4 for Four Thirds

September 28, 2006

So, when I was looking at purchasing this lens (which I love), I couldn’t find any pictures of it on camera.

Here you go. She’s a fatty.

Started a Photoblog

September 23, 2006

I repurposed an old blog — took me a half hour to delete all of the old entries and update a few things — as a Photoblog. Yes, you can still see all of the photos over at my beloved Flickr, but I’ll highlight some of the good (and bad, and ugly?) stuff over at the ropadope photoblog (http://ropadope.blogspot.com).

Word.

First Shots — Sigma 30mm f1.4 for 4/3 (Olympus E-500)

September 21, 2006

Went to Chicago the past few days. The cool, grey autumn weather and museums were perfect places to put the new lens through its paces. I like what I am seeing — tremendous bokeh and the speed makes it so easy to turn up the artsiness.

So far, so good.

Arrived! Sigma 30mm f1.4 for my Olympus!

September 15, 2006

All I can say so far, before really giving it a workout, it that it “feels” solid. It’s a heavy lens. It looks great on the E-500 — you can almost hear all the light being sucked in through all of that glass. I’ve taken a few shots, nothing noteworthy yet. I hope to post some samples in the next day or two for all to see.
